DESCRIPTION:Football Scrimmage\nUpdate to this week’s Varsity Scrimmage: due to a last-minute cancellation by Organ Mountain High the Bulldogs will now be playing IN Ruidoso Wednesday\, Aug 9 against Clovis and Las Cruces starting at 4 pm instead of playing Organ Mountain at the Bowl here in Artesia. \nThe Sophomore scrimmage will still be at the bowl on Thursday\, Aug 10 and we will STILL have the Hamburger Fry with a Meet and Greet of our Varsity team at 5:30 pm! They’ll be out signing shirts/items for the kiddos! Come out and say hello\, watch some football\, and eat a great hamburger meal to help kick off our football season! $5 gets you a delicious hamburger\, chips\, and a drink! The cheapest meal in town and the greatest show in town. We’ll see you there!

DESCRIPTION:Independence Day in Artesia!\n\nJoin us in Artesia\, NM to celebrate our nation’s independence. The 4th of July brings lots of red\, white\, and blue to our little orange town as we celebrate this nationwide holiday!\n \nHere is a list of Events for the 4th of July \n*7:00 am – Star Spangled Dash hosted by the Changing Lives Coalition is a 5K or 10K color run inside Jaycee Park. Online registration is open and available here. Prices begin at just $15 for kids and $30 for adults and go up if you register the day of. \n*8:00 am – 4-on-4 Co-Ed Volleyball tournament hosted by local volleyball enthusiasts is open to teams of all ages! Registration begins at 8:00 am at Jaycee Park and play begins at 9:00 am. Bring plenty of water and enjoy a little healthy competition to kick off the 4th of July! \n*9:00 am – Patriotic Parade hosted by the Elks Club Does is a huge hit year after year! Decorate a car\, truck\, trailer or bike and join in the fun! It’s free to enter. Line up begins inside the Bulldog Bowl Parking Lot at 301 Bulldog Blvd at 8:00 am. Parade begins at 9:00 and will head north on Bowman Dr. to Mahone Dr. turning right (east) and will go all the way up to Roselawn and will then turn back on the other side of the park (JJ Clarke) west to Wal Mart where passenger pick up will be. Please call Desirea to get signed up at 1.575.495.0197 or stop by the Chamber at 107 N. 1st Street. \n*9:00 pm or fully dark – Join us at Jaycee Park to end the day with the annual Fireworks Extravaganza set to some pretty awesome music. Music inside the park will be provided by KSVP Radio\, so tune your radio to am 990 or fm 92.9 to listen as the choreographed show will be sure to dazzle you!
