Tuesday, April 19 from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm, Artesia General Hospital is hosting a town all event to showcase the addition of their behavioral health services being offered. Make plans to come to The APS Administration building (301 Bulldog Blvd.) to hear everything they’ll be offering.
ARTESIA LODGER’S TAX
Artesia Lodger’s Tax Committee will be meeting on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Artesia Chamber of Commerce to discuss current applications.
MCBRIDE FIRE
The Ruidoso Chamber of Commerce has provided us with some information on how best to help out the victims of the McBride Fire. The Community Foundation of Lincoln County has set up a fund specifically for the fire victims and currently the biggest need is money more than items so that they can get the victims exactly what they need. ARTESIA ARTS & CULTURE DISTRICT
Artesia’s Arts & Cultural District is excited to kick off the 2022 mural season! They are currently accepting proposals for a design to cover the west side of 212 West Main St, Artesia NM (front corner to first window).
Submissions are due by April 30, 2022. A selection committee will select the final design, and the winning artist or team of artists will be awarded $5,000.00. Join the Library for the launch of their STEM Center! See what they have been 3D printing. Take home a 3D-printed keychain, cookie cutter, pendant, or toy. Bring the little kids in to play with Bee-Bot robots and Code Hopper puzzle play mats. For all grades and ages, program an Ozobot Evo robot, build a circuit, or just have some good old-fashioned building-block fun with ROK Blocks.
ARTESIA HISTORICAL MUSEUM & ART CENTER
The Artesia Historical Museum and Art Center will be hosting the Russell Floore Memorial Student Art Show from April 9 to April 30 in the Art Center. This display is open during regular operating hours from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Tuesdays through Saturdays. This exhibit is the annual display of student artwork from local schools. The exhibit is in memory of Russell Floore, a local art collector and Southwest art advocate. All special exhibits at the Artesia Historical Museum and Art Center are free to the public. GUNS & HOSES CHARITY SOFTBALL GAME
The Artesia 9/11 Memorial is hosting a Police vs. Fire charity softball game on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at high noon (12:00 pm). Come enjoy the game and some a good time! There will be hot dogs, cracker jacks, peanuts, and sarsaparilla. Tickets are just $5 for adults and $2 for anyone under 18. Details here.
